A Little Bit of This...

Matthew really enjoyed his early education program. He was getting to know kids his own age, where he was used to only having his big sister and brother and the adults in his life. In the beginning, he loved riding the bus. I was a huge mess about him riding the bus in the beginning. The first day he rode the bus, I called my sister as I followed it, sobbing, to make sure he got there okay. I was so worried something was going to happen to my baby.

We had so much fun at Valentine's Day with his cute little valentines. There were only six kids in his class, and I always wanted to be one of those mothers who made their kids' valentines. So in February of 2016, I had the opportunity to do so. I bought those toy cars that come in packages at holiday seasons, rolled their tires in some stamping ink, printed out the saying on cardstock, and made what I thought were the cutest little cards. I attached some candy to them, and he had a fun Valentine's Day!

The nice thing about Matthew being in school is I was able to attend the other kids' school functions. When I was having my c-section with Matthew, Tea had earned student of the month. My mom went to her ceremony because I obviously couldn't. In March 2016, she earned student of the month again, and I was able to make that ceremony. Matthew was in school, so I was able to go without him tugging on my hand, and I could get a picture of her receiving her certificate.

My mom has always been a little sad about not being able to have close relationships with the kids because we had lived so far away, but she is Matthew's Godmother, not just his grandmother. I like to think that they have a special relationship. When we lived 150 miles away, we tried to visit as much as possible so that the kids could know my parents, but it just wasn't always possible. Now that we live 25 miles away, it's nice to be able to go over there whenever we want.

As you can see from the picture above, Matthew's obsession with electronics started early. It started out with phones. We'll begin with that in next week's dirt!
